Before the interview I offer you to read some information about a
psychological aspect of the contact. All the people can be divided into four
classes according the psychological aspect. The majority of social
psychologists claim that these classes are: analytic, mild, expressive
and a driver. Every aspect has its own psychological characteristics. Let
look through them.
Analytic aspect.
Positive features of the person: preciseness, rationalism, courtesy and
attention towards small details.
Negative features: criticizing himself, uncertainty, formalism and
propensity to condemnation of the people.
Mild aspect.
Positive features of the person: warmness, the ability to hold serious
negotiations, reliability and the propensity to co-operation.
Negative features: undisciplined, dependence, obedience, compliance and
excessive care.
Expressive aspect.
Positive features of the person: enthusiasm, the ability to persuade,
optimism and communicative skills.
Negative features: self-centeredness, emotionalism, propensity to be
exploited and self-confidence.
Driver
Positive features of the person: independence, ability to make
important decisions, effective work, persistence and strong will.
Negative features: aggression, violence and ruthlessness.
These very aspects will be useful when you choose a career.
Analytic style
People of that style may be Managers of finance (and programmers,
engineers and accountants). They are fond of complicated systems and long
procedures. They are a little bit slow on the uptake because they
analyze each detail but their decisions are always balanced. They prefer to
work themselves without any help and sometimes it turned out that they
can not work with other people. They buy cheap second-hand cars and
their style in clothes is conservative. In the party they will ask you why
you bought such an expensive beer, if you could buy a cheap one. They
take their laptops with them everywhere even if the go to the party.
PR-managers.
They are oriented on other people in every aspect of their
life and work. They are dependent on people, devoted to them and very
sympathetic. They can listen to your long stories and they appreciate
constrained people to work with. They are conformists and followers;
there are not leaders by their nature. They avoid conflicts and arguments
and take them quite a lot of time to come to the decision. The make
decisions reluctantly because they do not want to be responsible for them.
They buy minivans or cozy and convenient cars for them and their
children. They love comfort life and they are the only people who stays at
the party till the end to help with odd jobs around the house.
Manager of sales.
They are full of enthusiasm and energy. The may create the idea but they are not able to embody it in to reality. They are self-confident and egoistic. Their main motivation is money, a lot of money. Generally they set good social and professional contacts. They prefer to point out and control rather than ask and listen to. They drive beautiful sport cars with stereo systems. The idea of the corporative
party is their idea but they will not arrange and prepare it because they are in a hurry for the next one.
Bosses and businessmen.
They are smart and strict. Their success is entirely based on their inner motivation and constant search of challenge. Money for them is just a measure of their success but not the main factor. They are oriented on the result and that is why sometimes they may be indulgent and patient to serious disadvantages and sometimes they
lose their patience because of laziness of their subordinates. Their cars are really expensive but not because it is the opportunity to show their wealth but it is a great chance to invert their money in sensible way. They would like to know the reason for arranging the party and if the investors and other important guests were invited. On the job interview you will talk with the representatives of those
aspects. And each representative having asked the question about you would like you to reply in different ways. The information about those aspects would be very useful in that case. There are the example replies for the representatives of different styles.
The reply to a manager of finance.
The success of my career may be explained by my balances decisions based on the thorough analyses of all the details. I would like to work with you because the opportunity to develop the structure appeals to me and I think that our co-operation
would be helpful for the whole company".
The reply to a PR-manager.
My promotion is connected with the ability to lead an effective work with different people. I always try to find an opportunity to involve other people into the process of my work. Co-operation and constant communication is the thing which always helps me to gain a success in my department. I think that people is the most
precious resource for every company.
The reply to a manager of sales.
During my career I have always followed the rule that every person in the company is focused on the increase of sales. My department has always been prepared for the work with clients and we provided a various help to our clients. Without sales we
will not develop our company and our functional department will not have job to do. I am going to provide the increase of sales in one or another way."
The reply to a businessman.
I have achieved the professional success because I have always been oriented to the final result. I always try and find the innovational ideas which would be helpful for achieving good results. I do not like to keep status Quo because I personally think that the company without any changes is doomed to be a complete failure.
I would be grateful to work with you and to develop new spheres and markets. I hope my work would promote the company".
The aspects of the people's character which I have already mentioned
are common with people. And knowing the aspects will help you to give
appropriate answers for different managers. I wish you get a job you have
dreamt about for a long time.
